About the speaker: Dr. Doretha Atkins
Dr. Dorothea (Dotty) Atkins Th.D., RN, LMT is an experienced registered nurse, massage therapist, inspirational wellness speaker, educator, researcher, and facilitator of a holistic self-help approach for pain management. Her adaptable do-it-yourself, mind-body approach to therapeutic massage integrates various body and energy techniques, stretching, self-help exercises, and relaxation techniques to affect symptoms.
She is CEO and founder of Holos Touch LLC, a private practice, and consulting service empowering individuals, athletics, and communities with simple, proven, hands-on methods that relieve pain and enhance personal health. Her published research on” Self-Massage for Osteoarthritis of the Knee” may be found in the 2013 September issue of www.IJTMB.org.
Teaching a wide variety of continuing education courses, in stress management and relaxation techniques to healthcare professionals, churches, and organizations for over two decades, participants appreciate her wealth of practical information, experiential approach to teaching and warm sense of humor.
